오늘은 미국을 장악해오고 있는 한국 아이돌 그룹에 대해 이야기 하고자 합니다.
Today, I’m going to talk about a Korean idol group that has been taking over in the US.
누구를 말하는지 아실텐데요…

그들은 미국에서 엄청 유명합니다.
They are crazy popular here in the States.
매일 확인할 수 있는데요, 왜냐하면 제가 중학교 선생님이기 때문입니다.
어떤 학생들은 BTS에 완전 빠져있어요.
I have daily proof because I am a middle school teacher,
and I have some students that are completely in love wite them.
그들이 말하길, Mrs. LEE! BTS 신곡이나 뮤비보셨어요?
They’ll say “Oh, Mrs.Lee!
Did you see the new BTS song or BTS music video?”
저는 “응 맞아” 하면서, 그리곤 그들을 따라잡으려고 하죠.
I’m like “uh-huh!” and I try to keep up with them
그 그룹이 모두 여기서 엄청 유명해진것은 정말 흥미롭다고 생각해요.
I think it’s really interesting that that group of all of them
has become super popular here.
정확히 왜인지는 잘 모르겠지만, 그들은 정말 재능이 있다고 생각해요.
I’m not sure why exactly, but I think they’re talented.
음, 그들이 처음 데뷔햇을 때, 오 와우 정말 어리지만,
Um, when they debuted, I remember thinking “Oh, wow, they’re really young.
랩을 잘하고 춤을 잘추네, 크게 되겠다라고 생각했던게 기억나네요.
But their rap is good and their dancing is good. They’re going to be big.”
그리고 BTS는 미국에 왔죠!
And they are here!
제가 유튜브 보고 있을 때, 그리고 완전 케이팝과는 관련없는 채널에서조차
Even when I’m surfing Youtube and I’m on a channel compeltely unrelated to k-pop,
항상 댓글에서 BTS 팬들을 볼 겁니다.
I’ll always some BTS fans in the comments.

솔직히 그들이 대박나서 놀랐습니다. 하지만 행복합니다.
They’re like “Oh, yeah! GO ARMY!” I’m just honestly surprised that
they’ve made it so big, but I’m happy
저는 어딜가나 케이팝이 언급되는 것을 보는 것을 좋아합니다.
I love seeing references to k-pop everywhere
BTS 콘서트이나 다른 것을 (직접) 본 적은 없는데
So, I’ve never seen BTS in concert or anything
제가 서울에 돌아가서 친구들이 ‘안젤라, 콘서트 티켓 얻었어’하면
무조건 ‘좋아 가자’ 하고 갈거에요.
but I would totally go. If I go back to Seoul and my friend is like
“Angela, yo! I got BTS conert tickets!” I’d be like “Alight , let’s go!”
제가 그 중에 가장 나이 많은거 같은데
I might be the oldest one in the crowd,
그래요… 괜찮아요.
but… it’s all good.
궁금해하실까봐서요, 제 학생들은 J-HOPE을 제일 좋아합니다.
In case you’re wondering, my students’ favorite member is J-Hope.
그를 정말 좋아하고, 항상 그에 대해 이야기합니다.
They love him, they talk about him all the time.
그의 사진을 폰배경으로 가지고 있습니다.
They have his picture as a wallpaper on their phones.
미국 케이팝팬으로서, 그룹이 미국에서 정말 잘되는 걸 봐서 흥분되고요.
As an American k-pop fan, I’m so excited to see a group really making it big here.
